Professor Djordjevic received the Dipl. Ing. (5 years), M.S.E.E. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Nis, Faculty of Electronic Engineering, in 1996, 1999 and 2005, respectively. He is a Full Professor at the Department of Telecommunications, Faculty of Electronic Engineering in Nis, with research and teaching interests in the general area of statistical communication and information theory with applications in wireless RF and free-space optical communication systems, as well as satellite fixed and mobile communications. His current research interests are application of different error correction codes and modulations in wireless optical and RF systems, cooperative networks, relaying technology, and quantum communications. He is an author of more than 50 journal papers published in journals from SCI list and 200 conference papers. He has been a reviewer for several IEEE journals and has taken part in numerous communications conferences as a reviewer, session chairman, or invited speaker. He was a guest editor of several journal special issues devoted to optical and RF wireless communications. He is a member of the IEEE.
